MEN'S TAILORING WORKROOM

Full time – 37.5 hours per week

Required to join our talented team at Angels in the manufacture of men's costume for film, theatre and television productions worldwide

Applicants must:

  • Have at least three years industry experience (includes fashion)
  • Have a thorough knowledge of garment construction
  • Have experience of making all elements of men's costumes & uniforms
  • Be able to prepare garments for fitting
  • Have a BA degree in costume making or equivalent.
  • Savile Row background/training preferred but not essential

TEAM LEADER

RETURNS DEPARTMENT

Full time – 37.5 hours per week

Required to join our busy team at Angels. The Returns Department is responsible for the daily dispatch and return operation of costumes supplied to film, theatre and TV productions worldwide.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Overseeing work of the department, providing support & direction where required
  • Ensuring the timely return of costumes to stock having been processed effectively for cleaning and repair
  • Providing central point of contact for staff, customer and couriers
  • Supervise collection of costume for dispatch from all departments ensuring delivery to correct collection agency

Requirements

  • Experience of leading a team and of providing training and support to staff in areas of process, stock knowledge and personal development
  • Confident communication and problem solving skills and ability to use initiative to overcome challenges
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft office and the ability to learn and use new systems & software
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting boxes weighing up to 30kg

You may also be interested to know the following about the kind of job types that exist at Angels, although we don't currently have any vacancies:

Posts as Junior or Trainee Costumiers - applicants have sometimes completed a costume or fashion course (which is not essential). What is more important is to be able to demonstrate a passion for costume and history and the desire to progress in the industry.

Posts in our Alterations Workroom require a minimum of 2 years formal training in the construction and interpretation of costumes. College leavers and graduates usually start in the Alterations Workroom.

Posts in Dressmaking require a minimum of 2 years formal training in the construction and interpretation of costumes plus at least 2 years relative experience.

Posts in Tailoring require a minimum of 2 years formal training in the construction and interpretation of costumes plus at least 2 years relative experience.
